Shark (fan) on a plane

Lame pun, I know, but I figured it fit. As an update, I am now booked on all flights from October 9th to Calgary all the way to 2007 when I fly home from Big D on the 1st day of the new year. Game ticket update, I am finalized in Florida, securing seats to both October 29th in Tampa, and October 31st in Sunrise, where the Florida Panthers are taking on San Jose (pronounced either San J as in jug - ohz and San Jose as in hose). Hooray for education. Most seats go on sale 9/9 and 9/16, so stay tuned. That's all for now. Enjoy the MTV Video Music Awards.

First sign of life for the SHO

Evening, rather, morning fellow fin fans. Just checking in, as it has been around a week since I've been up and running here, and I finally have a bit to report on. Today I was contacted by two of the entities I originally contacted about the Odyssey, the Sharks organization and a Bay Area radio station, KFOG. Both seemed interested by the SHO (A handy abbreviation for Sharks Hockey Odyssey that you will see more of throughout the year), and wanted to help. The Sharks, by assisting me in securing tickets for the tough road games and KFOG, wanting to put me on The Morning Show periodically, stay tuned for specific dates and times, those will come in the next few weeks. I am still waiting to hear from a couple radio stations and the NHL, and will of course let my faithful few (if that many) know what is happening as it is occurring.

Welcome and Mission Statement

Hello, and welcome to my blog. My name is Jess Knaster. I am a journalism major at West Valley College in Saratoga, CA and a huge San Jose Sharks fan. This October, I will be embarking on a long, 6 month journey, an "odyssey" of sorts, attending each of the Sharks 82 regular season contests. In order to tie this into my major, I will be blogging all my experiences (travel to and from, off day activities in each road city, the arenas, and the games themselves). As a young adult (I will be turning 21 in mid October), I have constantly been bugged by my parents to travel, to see the world. While this trip isn't exactly taking me around the world, it is allowing me to visit many new places, while also experiencing exciting hockey.

Whether in error or with purpose, thank you for visiting my blog. Until the season begins, I won't be contributing too often, but once October 5th arrives, my blog will come alive with posts. Until then, if you have any questions, suggestions or other comments, feel free to drop me a line.
